Letter of Support
Dear Colleague,

As reflected in a number of policy and strategic frameworks, consumer involvement in AOD service planning and development is an important feature of a responsive service system.  To this end, the Department of Health is committed to building stronger consumer participation in the Victorian AOD sector.

I am pleased to advise you that the Department has recently funded the Association of Participating Services Users (APSU) to undertake a project which seeks to increase AOD consumer participation.  The Strengthening AOD Consumer Participation Project aims to enhance sector awareness of the value of AOD consumer participation and support the uptake of consumer participation initiatives.  The project offers a unique opportunity for agencies to better understand, consider and/or implement consumer participation approaches with the direct support of APSU.

I encourage you to consider participation in this important initiative.

Yours sincerely
