Appointment of Cath Williams as Principal Project Adviser, AOD Sector Performance

Dear all - I am delighted to let you know that Cath Williams will be joining the Department of Health AOD Sector Performance and Improvement team from the 23rd May as the Principal Project Adviser, AOD Sector Performance. Cath is an experienced Program Manager with an comprehensive knowledge of the Alcohol and Drug Sector in Victoria and is well known to many stakeholders.

She is currently the Assistant Director, Health Strategies Branch, Victorian State Office for the Department of Health and Ageing. As the Program Manager for Drug and Alcohol and Mental Health initiatives, she oversees direct service delivery projects under the Non-Government Organisation Treatment Grants Program and capacity building projects under the Improved Services and Amphetamine Type Stimulants Initiatives as well as funding for a number of projects under the National Suicide Prevention Strategy.

In 9 years with the Department of Health and Ageing she has also held portfolios in a number of general practice, rural health, quality improvement, home and community care and workforce programs both in Victoria and Canberra so brings an extensive understanding of the complexity of the health system from both a national and state perspective.

She also has a background in marketing and communications in the private sector and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, Graduate Certificate in Public Relations and Graduate Diploma in Management.



Rebecca May will be acting up in to this post until Cath starts with us. We look forward to working closely with everyone in the sector.
